I am seriously SO excited that you’re here! We are going to have a blast and a half over the next 30 days! 😃
The Baby-Led Play Foundations Course is designed to help you understand the fundamentals of baby play and why this one of the most important parts of your baby’s routine, both now and as he/she gets older.
In addition to walking through our baby led play blueprint, you’re also going to unlock tons of activity ideas that will help your baby reach important milestones. Best of all, every activity prompt is easy to set up and enjoyable for you too.
I’ve seriously had an absolute blast putting together this course and I’m really excited for us to dive in to learn and play together over the next month.
What This First Lesson is All About:
During this first lesson, I want to take a quick minute to tell you a little about who I am and what’s my story, since you’ll be spending a few minutes with me every day over the next month.
Then I’ll give you a quick walk through on what to expect as you dive into the challenge so you’re all ready to go on Day 1.
I’m Danielle. It’s Nice to Meet You!
I’m Danielle – a self-proclaimed play fanatic and giant kid at heart.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been drawn to the kids’ corner at every family reunion, wedding, or summer picnic I go to.
This is probably a good thing because I’m the oldest of SIX kids, so I’ve spent a LOT of time playing with little people.
I always joke that I started babysitting before I knew how to write in cursive and became the go-to babysitter and nanny for everyone in town for years.
I feel really lucky because I’ve always connected with little people and LOVE diving into playtime with them.
I remember one time when I was babysitting my 3 year old cousin. We walked to the park and then quickly dove into a world of make believe full of butterfly princesses, giant frog cars, a hot lava floor, and lollipop stepping stones.
We hopped to safety on our giant lollipops and made up new spells to save the butterfly princess, and then fell into a puddle of giggles while we took a quick break.
While we were catching our breath, a mom stopped me and said, “Wow! You make play time look so much fun. I always dread spending the day at the park, but you make me want to hop right in with you. How do you do it??”
The truth is I’m lucky and playing with babies and toddlers has always come naturally to me. This has always been my zone of genius.
Now I’ve made it my goal to make playtime your zone of genius too!
I’ve spent the last few years diving into all things attachment and child development and working one-on-one with parents and their babies to help bring the gift of playtime to your house too.
My goal is for you to fall head-over-heels in love with playing with your baby by the time you finish this course.
I’m hoping this will give you the tools and the confidence to have more fun and really enjoy these first few years with your little one.
Your job is to log in each day for your daily Fundamentals of Play module. Then check out the daily Play Prompt and sneak in a little time to dive into the activity and play with your little one.
I’ll take care of the rest and I promise by the end of the 30 days you’re going to know a whole lot more and feel much more inspired when it comes to playing with your baby.
How Does the Course Work?
Every day from January 4th – February 2nd, you’ll unlock a new lesson, which is split into into two parts – the Fundamentals of Play Module and Daily Play Prompt.
Fundamentals of Play Videos
You’ll start each day with the Fundamentals of Play Module. These take about 5-15 minutes, depending on the daily theme and are specifically designed to give you the information you need to truly understand your baby’s play needs and transform your play routine.
Throughout the 30 days, these are split into 4 different modules:
- Baby Play Basics
- Types of Play
- Impactful Playtime
- Problem Solving Play Challenges
After watching all 30 modules, you’ll understand the purpose of play, different types of play you can use with your baby, how to set up an easy and fun play routine, problem solving common play challenges, and so much more.
Daily Play Prompts
After watching the daily Fundamentals of Play video, you can dive into the daily play prompt (or you can sneak it later in the day when you have a few minutes to play with your little one).
Some play prompts will specifically pair up with your daily Fundamentals of Play video to help you put that concept into action right away.
Other play prompts will let you expand your play ideas while helping you to simplify playtime with your baby and find play opportunities all around you.
Every play prompt is split into three parts to help you adjust based on your baby’s age:
- Older Babies
- Little Toddlers
Feel free to look through all of the modifications to get different ideas and learn how you can approach the same activity multiple ways with your baby.
That’s it for today!
The Baby-Led Play Foundations Course is starting on January 4th, so be sure to mark your calendar so you’re ready to log back in and dive in with us.
